The Kia Sportage Special Edition is a Sign of “X-Men: Apocalypse”

A Kia Sportage special edition inspired by the shape-shifting character, Mystique, has been created to promote the latest X-Men movie coming out in May 2016. The awesome second generation Kia X-Car is being unveiled at the 2016 Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia this month, where Kia is a major sponsor and marketing force. Kia and its global brand ambassador, Rafael Nadal, revealed the first state-of-the-art X-Car at last year’s Australian Open. That model was a Sorento based on the Wolverine character. 

Custom Shape Shifting Design

With this edition, designers took elements of Mystique’s character and transformed the 2017 Sportage into a shape-shifting vehicle. The custom bodywork is painted with a textured look and feel, combining matte and gloss blue paint for a tone-on-tone look. The addition of red and yellow highlights, futuristic lights, and silver X’s accent the design and deliver the vibe of the popular X-Men comic book franchise. 

What’s New in the 2017 Kia Sportage

Look for a sharper, sportier look in the 2017 Kia Sportage, a leading contender in the crossover SUV market. Kia has strengthened and tightened up the body for a more sculpted style and improved performance. The front end has a larger grille and redesigned air intakes and fog lamps for a much more athletic appearance. The new Sportage gives drivers the option of a turbocharged engine with 241 hp for a tremendously powerful performance. Safety information is not available yet, but Kia is expecting a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. 

Bold Trims and Advanced Technology

Kia has also enhanced the interior quality and added technology to the all-new 2017 Sportage, which will be available in three trim level options: LX, EX, and SX. All models will feature a color touchscreen for audio and phone integration, Bluetooth handsfree connectivity, audio streaming, and satellite radio. Customers will love the new smartphone-driven UVO3 infotainment system upgrade that includes 8GB of music storage, streaming audio apps, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
